Coralline Algae?

So, I am worried that this could spark a massive GHA outbreak and have been keeping close tabs on phosphates. They remain stable at .25 (maybe slightly higher, I am using the API test kits) and are not going down even though I run Purigen / Chemi-Pure Elite in my media rack.

I decided to test my RODI water and the phosphates are reading 1ppm +. However, still 0 TDS. This is bad news. Any advice? The filters are less than 2 months old, but I may order replacements. I may also run a second DI at the end of the line.

I really do not want to add anything else to the tank, but considering my source water is loaded with phosphates should I get an additive for my water change water or something additional to run in the media rack?

Ok, so support from ReverseOsmosisRevolution suggested I purchase an empty filter shell and run GFO as a stage in my RODI to remove phosphates. Anyone ever do this?

I use API tests except Salifert for Mg and that API P04 test is junk. I'm definitely getting a Hanna checker. Don't panic yet. I had that green, it went to coraline. Later Down the line I also battled GHA but the line green had been long gone before the GHA showed up. Now I run a cheato reactor and things have stabilized. Put Seachem Prime in your Rodi water.

I have Prime for my Freshwater tank. What would that help my RODI water with exactly? It does not remove phosphates.

I'm thinking of picking up some GFO and the MiniMax reactor on Amazon which is only $45.

I think something that is not being emphasized here is that your tank is only 6 weeks old. This sort of algae is completely expected at this stage of the tank’s maturity. I would just keep up with the water changes and see what happens. It will likely pass.

the prime isn't a great idea.

I suspect the test is suspect. The level of accuracy of the test and the TDS meter offers reasonable doubt. Use the tank as your guide, the test are to validate our suspicions. On the whole your tank looks fine. I'd let it play for a while. It's not outside the norm.

If over time things get remarkably worse, tank levels continue to climb then you might revisit the testing method.
