coralline algae

Some of my coralline algae is now bright white. Is this caused from to much salt or something else. All my parmas seem normal

Usually when your coraline turns white it is dying. I'd recheck my Ca and kH

If you had coralline on the rock and added it to your system it is likely receding. But, it should rebound as long as your Ca and dKH are ok.

It can also go quickly if you've added brighter lights.

or if you did a water change and coralline that drys out, will perish.

if thats not the case make sure your ca, alk, mg, etc are all in order

it's surprisingly sensitive, i found it dying of with fluctuating alkalinity levels (when I first set up my calcium reactor). most of the time it comes back after a couple months, though, so I never really worried about it (and had few issues other than a few diatoms, which were short lived).
