corals dieing in carib.

just spoke to my cousin in st thomas. he works as a dive instructor for tourist. he said the impact is obvious and has been for a while . he said that the corals along the reef are not wiped out but that the large colonial lps that have been present and always happy have died off in a fast time. for example he said that he always would pass a huge brain coral when going out in a certain area. for years he said no change but it getting bigger .........since last year he noticed dead patches , he always noticed small dead patches but they would heal bythe next visit. these stayed and when he visited the area again had grown. this specific coral that was about 8 feet in diameter is now dead! in any case he said he can see the impact that the news has spoke of.
