alk is 8.7 temp is 78 calcium is 410 and no new lights and do you think the nitrates could be the cause ?

It's not the nitrates. It can be having phosphates too low. How much and how often do you feed your fish? Are you running GFO? Have you changed your dosing recently? Has your system seen a temperature spike recently?

For a better grasp on phosphates and nitrates here's Richard Ross' video

no temp spike i do run gfo i feed my fish everyday a lot of food they are happy fish i did start dosing nopox but i wouldnt think that would do this

Are you running nopox for algea ,I never ran a gfo reactor heard bad things so I don't really know them besides they take Phosphates out your water, which is good and bad I know might be wrong but .o5 is good for Phosphates up to .1 could be that try turning off gfo and could need lights to
