Jay, how did the tank turn out?

It came out good. I'm gathering all the goods to get it ready for setup. I'm gonna water test it this week. Talked to the acrylic guru on here and he said to go ahead. Going to try building the lumenarcs today for it. If that works out, it might be nice to have a workshop where we can build the reflectors for cheap.

I'll start a new thread on it once everything arrives.

How much did it cost for the material for the lumenarcs? Do you have all the flat layouts for the material?

I am not sure. I'm going to buy a suntube from Home Depot and see what it costs. I think a single tube runs about 30 bucks. I'll have to check. If I have enough left over for another, I'll split the material with anyone who wants it. Or I'll just build me some more

Any way of building one to fit where a normal spider reflector fits?

No one. Wife didn't want to part with it. I'll have to try again.

I'm not sure but I have the plans for a 14" one also. I bought a tube at Lowes but from what I can tell, it requires the 14" diamter tube, not the 10". Lowes is a bit more expensive at 52.00. Home Depot is 39.00 but I have to have them special order it.

If you can build something that will fit mine (see pic for reference) I am definately in for splitting the material costs with you & a little something for your time & efforts if you are capable of building it.

I'm switching the VHO's out for two more T5's so that will open up some extra room too.

I think the mini's are 14" inches. So if you have 14" in between each, you should be fine. I won't have any extra as one tube makes just enough for a single lumenarc. I'll let you know if it goes well and send you the plans.

I have 4 of the 14 inch. Some of the tampa folks made them as small as 5 inches.

I certianly have more than 14" wide, but deep I can only go about 11 or 12 inches. MAYBE 14 if the T5's make that much extra room.

Do you know what to ask for when calling aluminum shops? They asked me thickness and all sorts of questions.

.020" thick spectral aluminum. Contact ReefArtist and see if she has any left. She bought a 300 pound roll.

14 inches square, about 6 inches deep.
