I bought it used. And the cord I got does not work.

Any way to obtain the proper cord.???

The cord is the USB cable. Its not the correct one for the 7096.
And before I assume its the unit I want to try a proper cord.

Any USB 2.0 A to A cord should work, we don't sell the USB cord as a spare part. Can you tell me what happens when you connect it.

It was saying "no unit found". A buddy had a older USB male to male cord that let me into the controller. So problem solved. I was just worried the cable was unique,
