Coris Wrasse Diet

Morning Everyone!

My first addition to my new 120g FOWLR is a beautiful Coris Wrasse. He's healthy (still juvi markings) and enjoyes eating frozen Mysis Shrimp, per my LFS recommendation.

What else can I offer him? I tried, just for kicks, some tropical fish flake fish food last night just to see if he was attracted to it. Well, he turned his nose to it (and I don't blame him!). What other types of food can I offer? I also wouldn't mind something quick and easy to feed in the morning while I get ready for work. Might he like some more specific flake for his diet? I don't think he was attraced to the flake because of it's appearance.

Actually, he ate one little flake that got spun off a Koralia PH b/c I think it animated it quite a bit.

Appreciate the tips!

I added a changing coris to my tank probably 10 days ago. So far he's eaten enriched mysis, freeze-dried krill, and prime reef. He's pretty nervous at feeding time and I have to make very slow movements in order to not send him to the sand bed. Once he gets more used to me and the tank, I'm going to try spectrum pellets and some other foods.

Thanks GHead!

Good advice on the FD Krill. My Coris isn't too nervous at eating time....I've been squirting the Mysis down to him with turkey baster because the Koralias will scatter it everywhere. He eats pretty voraciously and is not too skittish.

My wife and I do get a good laugh when the lights go out at night. Without fail, 30 seconds after the lights kick off, he goes right to bed, Not to be seen again until the lights go back on the next am. I sure wish our newborn son would do that :)

My yellow coris wrasse eat anything i throw in the tank. Spectrum pellets, earthworm flakes mix with Ocean Nutrition Formula two and frozen brine. I think it helps when all my other fish attack the food and gets the other fishy hype on the food.

Mine eats anything I put in the tank, except algae based food. Eats krill, raw shrimp, silverside, mysis, formula 1 cubes, plankton, you name it.
