I have been following him on ebay,

Questions,
-Is he a respectable coral dealer?
-Are the prices legit, some seem a bit outrageous. $5999.99 for a frag
-Are his pictures Photoshop enhanced/filtered I only ask because I am a long time scuba photographer and it would seem a red/blue filter has been applied to the image. Not a big deal, it helps drop the blue wash out effect but still important on the orange/red/yellow colors.

I am planning my stock list for my new tank, and he has a chalice for $149 I really like, and if he is respectable I may put it down on the list as a future resident.

Thanks,
Tom

respectable thing is that chalice is tiny and everything is under blue leds

You are spot on it is tiny. I do like it, and it would grow out. If the bid went any higher I would not pay. I like Jason Foxes stuff also, and his prices seem a bit more legit.

Scubareefman, I have several of his high end rainbow and other chalices and he is a great guy. Visited him in Florida and has at least $500,000 in corals that are just out of this world. If you are interested I would cut you some of his stuff but at a fraction of the price. Just PM me if interested. Thanks! Dave

I'll keep it in mind, I still have a longtime to cycle. :D

i follow him and his little clan on facebook and insta. i sent them private messages because their pictures are extremely misleading. all they do is buy maricultured colonies and then amp them up under blue light while taking top down pics. what you see is NOT what you get. ask them for a picture under normal lighting (whites) before buying and the coral will be completely different than what you thought.

their argument is that everyone uses blue light.... not true

That's what I was needing to know, thanks. So they are running pure antic on the photos. I was thinking they were using a red/blue filter in photo-shop also but all blue lights would do the same thing.

Thanks
Tom

ya i kinda yelled at one of them on facebook for scamming people and he started posting the same pics under whites... he lost a lot of attention so he is back with the blues.

You kids and your facebook . . .

-Mike

facebook is sorta replacing the forums... unfortunately...

people would rather post their questions on there than actually read about their problem and figure it out. the ease of it all: liking photos, posting pics, sending messages, etc ... is all wayyyyyyy easier on there.

I like it but it is also annoying because people post questions that could be googled faster. but at the same time it is worth while :reading:

I have seen and own some of the cornbred pieces. I do agree his prices are outrageous. I bought some from a fellow reefer who does buy his stuff. I have been impressed with the stuff I have seen. Sure the pics are taken under the best possible light to make them glow. They also glow the same colors as shown when lit the same. I have yet to find other pieces as nice as some of his higher end stuff. Just my opinion

Haha. I say this all the time. There are a couple of reef fish books that I would love to have. The publisher won't put them into print because no one buys them anymore...people would rather post a question on fb, get a million wrong answers, and then b**ch about their outcomes.

yes i agree. my favorite is when people tell me i am dumb for dipping corals from a certain fish store...... :thumbdown that happened to me twice
