I am having difficulty finding a corner overflow for my tank I am gooing to setup soon. I dont like the idea of having a hanging one on the outside so I am just going to do that (if I could find one) Also is there any possible way to make one. Will apreciate any comments, Thanks Justin

What is it about hanging one on the back of your tank that you don't like. I'd doubt that you'll find a corner one that isn't on the inside of a reef-ready tank. Making one? Yes, you could do that. It would involve drilling. I'd look around the DIY forums if you want to go that that trouble.

wiggie...I can tell you from a good deal of experience that an overflow with a U-tube offers almost no likelihood if you understand how they work. Some precautions that would prevent even remote possibilities, like covering the inside box with "egg-crate" so errant crabs or clams can't get in and fish can't jump in, can be taken also.

...you are in almost no jeopardy of it causing any kind of flood. Of course, you can drill the tank and fabricate a corner overflow, but that is a lot more effort involved.

the only way i could ever see a flood happening, is if you have your sump totaly full, and the return pump siphons water back.
your return pump is near the bottom of your tank u have a power cut, then your in trouble.
some fat fish jumps down your overflow pipe and again your sump is too full.
with my set up if i had a power cut, the return is near the surface, and thers enough space for the sump to take the water till air broke the siphon, if my over flow got blocked thers enough room in the sump, so my pump would pump dry before the main tank flodded.
