hmmm... As of today my first half of live rock shipment just got more interesting. Or dreadful - not sure which yet.
I ordered TBS rock and have had the first shipment for about 3-4 weeks and the 2nd shipment is coming this week. I've had four known Mantis in the first batch - a friend got one, and I moved the homes of the others into a 20gal. As I was hunting the last Mantis' home today I saw his crab burial ground, which isn't so bad because these were the bad crabs, according to this pic from TBS.
So being kinda happy that I got the last one out of the main tank, what did I see but a near-fetus-looking baby shrimp jumping around on my powerhead filter. I couldn't catch him - he was like lightning. I can't tell if it's a pistol or mantis but I'd bet mantis since I had a whole gaggle of them for a month. I just wonder what's to come of this.
Proud father? Don't know yet... I want my clean-up crew to be safe and sound when they arrive.
