Correct Drive Unit / Impeller Replacement ??

I noticed one of my 6000 streams had quit working. Upon disassembly, I discovered the black plastic screw that held the propeller to the rest of the assembly had sheared.

I contacted a local marine store and asked if they had a replacement. I went in and picked it up, and upon opening it when I got home, saw that it was nothing like the one that the 6000 Stream was originally equipped with. I may have been able to discern this at the store, but the new impeller was wrapped in blue bubble wrap in the packaging.

I was given a 6100.700 drive unit and propeller. Is this going to work in the 6000 Stream? Although I have a basic idea, I'm also unfamiliar with how the new one is to be installed, as the componentry is much different.

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanx.

It will work, that is the newest version, you will just remove everything of your old one including the upper bearing and bush bearing and install the new one.

In going through the literature I have, I was reminded of the two year warranty. These were purchased on 9/4/05.

Does the warranty cover impellers?

I could send a new shaft and screw under warranty for your old drive unit.
