Hi there, I am slowly getting into SPS corals. what are the best water parameters for SPS. I have a mixed reef, but not sure where my Ca, ALK, and MG should be. Also should I do any other supplementation like with trace elements, like Iodine, strontium, act.. Thanks in advanced for the info.

I really don't think there is a "best". See what works for your tank and go with it. My Sps are doing great and my params are below.

Ca- 400-420
Alk- 8-9
Mg- 1200-1225

My Mg is low compared to what most people run, but I got tired of chasing it and things look great, so I stopped worrying about it.

Stability is the most important thing. Once you decide what levels you want to keep your system at, maintain that.

I think most would agree that you are fine with:

Calc: 380-475
Alk: 130-200 ppm
Mag: 1300-1500

I would shoot for somewhere in the middle rather than the upper or lower extreme; it offers more room for error.
