Cost of acrylic

Im getting anxious to attempt to build a tank and dont want to wait till may to possibly get my glass. So im thinking of building my frag tank with acrylic. Possibly 36x24x12, what do you think it will cost, and who would have the cheapest acrylic.

I don't know the prices, but AAA Plastics in B-ham is a local aupplier. I have purchased Acrylic glue from tham when I modified a sump. They seemed to carry a wide variety of products FWIW.

at lowes its about $50 for a 4x8 sheet. I dont know how much it is at a supply house.

How thick is it? Would it be thick enough for a tank?? Im gonna have to do some research so I dont have a flood on my hands.

If you dont have a problem viewing from above, you could herculine a plywood box. I have an example in my garage I can show you next time you're in Bham. I also have acrylic sumps that are that dimension, but I think they were designed for like a 8 or 10" water level. Just a thought

did i see those acrylic sumps when i was there? im just wanting something that is decent size but shalow also.
