Ok, so I need to figure this out like yesterday... I've read all the posts and white cloudy water on here but I'm not sure what exactly my problem is now. I know that white cloudy water is probably as a result of a bacterial bloom (though there is a chance for some calcium in the water - I use Reef Crystals at 1.026). I know that you're supposed to add carbon to help that; I'm currently running a bag of Chemi-Pure Elite. It's been in there for about 4.5 months which I know is at the end of its lifespan so it will be being swapped at the next water change. I also just did a water change two nights ago.
I don't have a lot of coral in the tank yet (mushroom frag, zoa frag, GSP rock) but none of them are open (the mushroom is starting to disintegrate). My firefish appears to be doing okay, as to my nails (except my large nerite snails... they've started to die for some reason). Also, I can't seem to keep a cleaner shrimp alive. My emerald crab is doing fine. I don't run a skimmer (yet) and I only feed 2-3 times per week.
