Could i keep a clam?

I have a 40 Gallon tank with 384 watts of pc. all of the water parameters are perfect. and ill be receiving a calcium test soon to keep it on target. could i keep anything besides a derasa?

Hey. You could keep a squamosa. Also,maybe a maxima, so long as it is at least mid-level in the tank.

Derasa, Squamosa, Hippopus. IME, not a maxima or a crocea.

be sure to get both CA and ALK tests, and good ones at that. They both need to be high, and stable.

Be sure to research other care requiremants of clams beyond lighting!
