could i make a wall to hide pumps, heaters, etc.?

this may sound weird, but i've been kicking around an idea of using two pieces of black acrylic in a back corner of my tank to hide the heater, the maxijet 600 that feeds my HoB fuge, and possibly a pump for a closed loop. running a sump just isn't an option for me, so i thought this may "clean up" my tank a bit

i'm hoping the end result will look sort of like an overflow in a RR tank, but with the teeth going all the way down. think it'll work?

It will be a good place for crud to settle and hard to clean, but it is doable.
