This tang was sold to me as a black tang, and I know this is no so.

This is definitely not a black tang but looks like a naso family to me . Can get a closer picture for it ?

Well....seeing as how a Naso is a tang, and that fish you have there is black, then I guess you really did buy a black tang.

On a more serious note seems to me that it looks like some type of Acanthurus species.

It looks alot like this species, not to sure on this, tho.

i had a tennetti before and when i first got it was a darkrer gray like the one you have. give it a couple of days and see if it changes color

Thompsontang may be the closes thing to mine, but only the very ends of the tail is white.

i second thompson tang. Color is not always a deciding factor. yours just has less white on the tail

No I didn't pay black tang price, not out here in the middle of no where land, Kansas lol. I knew it wasn't a black tang.
