Couple dosing hardware setup questions

Just purchased a Doser 2.1 and have a couple questions.

- Do I need to use RO tubing from the container to the dosing pump inlet or is vinyl (not silicone) airline tubing ok? Seems to me if there is no vacuum being created on the suction side, airline tubing should be fine?

- Is dosing into the overflow rather than the sump a bad idea?

- If no, should I run check valves on the outlet side since the tubing will end higher than the doser? I know the pumps shouldn't siphon but would be an extra safety measure.
