I believe I know what this is and I need to remove but not sure what exactly and don't trust myself enough yet. I believe it is some sort of hydroid.

Also, I seem to have them every popping everywhere including just floating around. How do I get rid of them or should I.

I use http://www.lionfishlair.com/hitchhiker.shtml a lot to identify things but it doesn't quite look right.

Second, I found this in my sand bed and have no clue what it is or even if it is a living thing or not.

If you anyone has any ideas what these things are, please let me know.

Just in advance, thank you. This place is absolutely the greatest thing for someone just discovering and following in love with this hobby.

From the balled tips of the first picture, it looks like a psuedocorynactis sp. pretty harmless, and part of the mushroom family.

The second pic has me stumped. Looks like a section of snail shell TBH. Is it solid?

Thanks both for the reply.

On the nem, should I remove them? I am getting a lot of them.

I think you are right on a snail corpse. I took it out to get some better pictures. The bottom looks like the remains of a foot.

Again, thanks. I love this place and the people answering questions is what makes it so great. Greatly appreciate your time and experience in answering my questions, both of you.

+1 on the first ID, commonly known as a Ball Anemone.

The second is the trapdoor of a (probably) turbo grazer snail
