put all of that misplaced anger (lol) into more practice, you'll get it, just takes a little patient work.

LMAO ill  but doing my best and also following you directions from last advice you gave me i dont know if mine dont get as good as yours cause my tank is like a bowlfront or something cause the rear pics with straight glass tend to develop better

:D..

The bowfront hurts, as you get diffraction, big time, just like that kid's experiment where you place half a pencil in a glass of water and the two ends of the pencil don't line up.

Awesome shots. Which camera are you using? The reason I ask is I am currently researching a new camera and am entertaining all possibilities right now.

Did you modify the colors on pics 3 & 4? If not what lighting are they under in those pics?

Pics 2 and 3 are of the same subject, at almost the same angle. Pic 2 was taken under 250w MH in the 10K range, pic 3 was taken under a single actinic somewhere around 480nm I think.

Photo shop does miracles. great pics

Photoshop was used, as it is in all of my images, I shoot in a RAW format and use PS to convert to a tiff for further editing. That way I can tweak the WB settings on a calibrated monitor. Images 1 thru 4 show pretty much what you would have seen under the given lighting conditions. Obviously image 5 had an altogether different treatment and PS is the gold standard for image editing.

Awsome pics astro....I really like the Black & white one...That would be a great picture for a wall.

I'm a huge Nikon fan and these images here were made with a D200 and a Sigma 105mm Macro lens, for those interested these were shot at ISO 100 @ f/22 for 30 seconds, yeppers I said 30 seconds!

As for new cameras, I can assure you that you will not go wrong with any of the Nikon DSLR's out there. As long as you're willing to commit to the learning curve, and there WILL be one, I would recommend buying the best body you could reasonably afford and add lenses as the budget allows. Start with a good multi purpose lens, the Nikon 18-70mm is a good choice, the 18-200 is a great choice, if the money floweth freely. Either of these can be purchased with the body as a 'kit', which saves a couple of bucks.
If you want to PM me I can go into more detail ... I don't wish to bore the masses. :D

One final note however, and i don't wish to start any flame wars, but I have a preference for the Nikon line, as previously stated and I have solid reasons, not the least of which I've shot with them for almost 3 decades and I've never formally been let down. There are some feature sets, that I have found significant and unique to the brand.

Ok ... I'm done ...

Thanks all for the kind remarks...

Anyone else have any zoo pics to add ...

Canon all the way :) Just kidding....being that I'm a semi-pro/amateur photographer myself, awesome pics with great clarity and use of depth of field. Love the zoa collection you have there.

RAW is the way to go for sure considering you can simply dial in the Kelvin temperatures for the pics.
