The focal point is sharp and in focus, nice... Are the colors true to the coral?
I would crop more closely to the focal point and get rid of a lot of the out of focus areas. Also, what f/stop were you using? I would give it a try keeping the shutter open longer to try for more background focus.

Just my 2 pennies, hopefully some of the pro's will jump in.

What setup (camera, lens if applicable) are you using? That will help a bit in giving answers. Overall, though, I think you've done a very nice job.

ditto jr719 ... crop for effect, eliminating the distraction portions of the image will help the viewer focus the subject you are trying to photograph

If I had to be critical, I would say that the last two need better composition. The shot looks good, but the background to closely matches the subject. I would change the angle or background behind the subject. Get those tan corals out of frame. But they look good. I'm searching for criticism. Nothing obvious.

Thank you all...

Camera is a D-50 with a 28-80mm nikon lens.
Taken in RAW AP no flash on a tripod. Shot triggered with the camera timer.

I will work with composition and cropping.
I always try to shoot perpendicular to the glas so there is little to no distortion from shooting trought the glass at an agle. That limits composition sometimes.
