Couple of pics with new camera

Decided today to get a decent camera and picked up a Nikon D40. Have only had it a couple of hours, basically took it out of the box, slapped the lens on, shot in RAW, and used PS Elements to edit the RAW for exposure, temperature and brightness. I actually just realized that I left the camera on the auto setting and forgot to switch it over to macro setting. I think they turned out decent for 5 minutes with the thing. They aren't as sharp as I wanted, and the lighting is a bit off, but I will learn how to use this thing after I finish the 1000 page manual. :D

Very nice. I have trouble shooting macro shots with my D40. Did you use a tripod and stuff as well? Pumps on or off?

pumps were on, and polyps and stuff were blowing around. This was just a test run with nothing set right just to see the camera in action real quick.

I just realized that I shot the pictures in ISO 1600, and I think that is why they came out kinda grainy and not as sharp as I wanted. Hope to take some more later when my lights come on so I can experiment.
