Ok, so I got my sump etc etc setup today, Overflow, Skimmer etc...

Now heres my problem? Or Question,,,, first of all. My return nozzle is one of those U TUBE things off of Marine Depot, that has the adjustable nozzle for the return flow, every so often a wave like oxygen burst will occure, for a couple seconds, could be a lot could be a little, its like within every 5 minutes, and sometimes its repitious, I dont know why? is my pump supposed to do that or no? I'm guessing no, but every so often it shoots quite a bit of air bubbles into my display,

Current setup is,,,

Rio 1700 for retun

Aqua Medic T1000 Skimmer

OceanRunner 2700 Skimmer Pump,

CPR CS90 Overflow, also is there anyway to quiet down the water flow that is coming out of my skimmer? out of the bio ball chamber>? it pours out ... and is very loud. Any way to fix?

sounds to me like either your return pump is sucking air in from micro bubbles, water to low or somewhere else or you have a small leak in your return line.

I agree that it sounds like either your just purging air from the line and it should stop after the air bubbles are out of the line or you are drawing air into the line somewhere. Your pump could be sucking air into it if the sump is low, could be air bubbles being pulled into the pump, or the discharge line could have a poor connection somewhere and allowing is to draw air into the line. You could also just have the nozzle too close to the surface.

Do you have a bubble trap in you sump after your skimmer?

I suspect that you may have too much flow through your sump that is creating the noise and air issues in the return line.
