Guys,

Purchased a Court Jester Goby - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1926+164&pcatid=164

I have this fish in a 150G tank with about 150lbs of Live Rock.

I just added a few colonies of Zoanthids and this fish is just tearing them apart.

Is this new news to anyone? I literally sat and watch him pull entire Polyps off the rock.

I'm well pi$$ed off and about ready to TRY and catch this little bullet fish.

I feed Flake and Pellet in the morning (which he eats) and I feed frozen mysis and rods in the afternoon (which he eats).

Any ideas?

Matt.

I've had Rainfordi on and off over the years. I've had them in heavily stocked reef tanks with lots of Zoa's and never seen this behavior.

The colonies of zoas must have come with a lot of tasty pods. The goby is just trying to pick them out. These gobies also will pull off hair algae to get to pods, which causes some people to think they eat algae, but ingestion is most likely incidental.
