I was at one of the LFS's today and saw a tang listed as a "Couvier Tang" i asked the owner, and he said he didnt know a whole lot about it. Looks similair to a kole/yellow eye, but a little more longer, Light blue body, with grayish/blue stripes. Anyone have anymore information to offer to me?

Do a Google search on Acanthurus xanthopterus and see if that's what your talking about. It is known as Cuvier's surgeonfish.

Was it full grown? If not, the juveniles may look different than the adult in body shape and coloration. My Acanthurus pyroferus is bright yellow now, but as an adult they look like a totally different fish. I am not aware of any tangs that are 2" at adulthood.

Doing a Google search for Couvier Tang, I came up with Scopas tangs. Is this the fish?

Acanthurus nigroris, looks like more like it, but different color patter, more light blueish/grayish, ill go to the LFS and try and take a picture of it at my lunch break tommorrow.
