Cover for overflow

Hey, I was just wondering what I should use to cover the corner overflow on my 75 gallon tank to keep snails out. Any suggestions?

I used eggcrate AFTER a large turbo snail blocked the drain pipe. Snails small enough to get through that wouldn't cause any problems in my system.

I covered mine so light does not cause algae in the overflows. bought a cheap 4 dollar black plastic garbage can from Walmart and cut a piece out of the side to fit on top of the overflow.

I just cut a piece of acrylic to fit over it, as mentioned black is a good idea.

I think I am going to use a piece of acrylic. For those of you who use the acrylic, how did you secure it down?

Mine stays on by sheer weight.

I used a leftover piece of acrylic from building my sump. I found a small conduit clamp from some other project and used a glob of silicone to secure it in the back corner to add some support.

Drilled a small hole and used fishing line
