Cowrie, reef safe?

Upon my search for diversification in my cleanup crew I stumbled on to some Cowrie. I remember about them in my readings, but can't rember if it was good or bad.....please refresh my memory.-Thank you

The stuff I read were about the ones that werent reef safe but seems that there might be a specie that are , though I could be wrong.

Is far as I know most cowries are carniverous. Check out Dr. Ron's forum. He's the expert to ask.

Dr. Ron has stated numerouse times that they are not reef safe.

DR Ron is no longr on RC due to a miss hap a few months back. He has an article in reefceeping about snails. It was last year or 2004. It si a 3 part series. He mentiones cowries in it.

I have a tiger crowie. Started noticing some of my corals dying. Never had success keeping a brain (keep the joke to yourself :lol: ) - they keep on dying. My last brain was starting to die. Threw the crowie in the sump, and the brain came back.

IMO - they are not reef safe. But if you want to try it out - I have one that you can have.
