Cowry

Found a cowry on a mushroom rock I bought today should I keep it or discard? Sorry no picture I'm new to posting.

IME they are not reef safe. I had one in my tank - not knowing that they weren't reef safe. For a long time, I couldn't figure out why some of my corals (including a brain) kept on dying. One day, I saw the crowry on a brain that was half dead. I tossed the crowy in the sump. Within weeks, most of my dying corals were coming back. So in my experience, they are not reef safe.

Read up on em,if your tank cant handle it.If not,turn it in for a couple snails or a hermit at your LFS.

hey minh,

thanks for some insight. i didn't think cowries messed w/ corals.. i assumed they just knocked stuff over bc they're large i was planning to get a cowrie too... =P

BTW - if anyone has a FOWLR tank and wants a tiger crowry - you can have mine. If not - I'll just follow Justin's advice and trade it in for some snails.
