Cozumel Snorkeling

Indeed :D I've always enjoyed Cozumel myself. Glad to see the reefs are doing well :)

I just went to the Riviera Maya in the middle of October. Water was rough and the snorkeling wasn't that great. What part of the island were you snorkeling? We have talked about Cozumel next trip down.

Great pics!

95% of those pics where taken at this place http://thisiscozumel.com/content/view/169/43/
It's located on the west coast of the island just south of Chankanaab. I pretty much did the whole island and there was nothing like this place :D All you have to do to snorkel there is buy a beer or something. You can bring or gear and if you don't have any they will rent you some.

Cheers

Well I'm glad I made your day better :D I think I should look at them more often 'cause being back at work really sux.
Cozumel is East of Mexico and North of Cancun.

Cozumel is East of Mexico and North of Cancun.

Cozumel is actually directly East of Playa del Carmen which is South of Cancun off of the Yucatan Peninsula. Awesome pics. You saw more snorkelling than I saw on my dives there in May.

My bad LOL You're right :D I'm not surprised you're saying that I saw more than you while you were diving. I said the same thing to the guys that were diving everyday and were showing me their pictures. Like I said the only place on the island that I actually saw corals was at that place. Everywhere else I saw.... deaaaad coral :( I really hope the hurricanes will spare Cozumel for some time now and let them regrow a tad.

Cheers.

My dives were on very shallow parts of the reef and were north of Palancar, which is where I assume you were. I had to dive there because my wife wasn't certified and took a resort course so she could dive with me. We saw a few eels, and a few small areas with some corals, anemones, etc., but no octopus, turtles, or huge sections of reef.

Maybe some day I can go back and see the good stuff.

I will definitely go back to Cozumel. I stayed at the Reef Club which is now called the Wyndham Hotel and I had an awesome time. It was an all inclusive resort which made it even better. The bar was pretty much a full bar. The other all inclusive I had gone to only had one kind of beer and Margaritas but not this one. There must have been over 40-50 bottles. And the food was excellent as well. Then I had the luck to find that place out of nowhere to snorkel on my second day so I pretty much went back every day around 4ish. I would try other places around the island but I never found something that compares to that place so I would just go back. It was only a 5 minute ride on the scooter we rented from the Hotel so I really didn't have any excuses :D

I stayed at the Cozumel Palace on my honeymoon. Awesome Place. Also all-inclusive with a full bar, great rooms, awesome staff. I'd recommend that place to anybody.

You're making me miss it real bad!
