CPR Bakpak

Hi all, I'm looking at one of these CPR BakPak units. It looks like they are factory "seconds" so there is that to consider, but the price might be worth the chance (30 day return too). More interested in the skimmer's performance vs. similar HOB. Any feedback welcome please, thanks!

This is a skimmer?I recommend the Eshopps.Much better hob skimmer.

I've had both the Bakpak and Aquamaxx...the Aquamaxx is so much better made and quieter. The Bakpak is SO loud. Of course, you can replace the pump. It works but doesn't work as well as the Aquamaxx which seems to pull more gunk more quickly and quietly.

It is very loud. I replaced mine with a reef octopus classic 90 hob skimmer.

I have this skimmer on my 60g. It works ok, I keep having problems with the pump but that didnt start up until well after the first year of running it. Make sure you clean the neck of the cup out at least weekly. After almost 3 years I am looking to replace mine but it wasnt a complete lemmon. It is nice to run filter media like carbon in the return side of this skimmer. Can even put the heater in there as well.
