i have a small cpr fuge.. i noticed on the left hand side there is a box area where the water from the fuge goes to the tank.. is there anything suppose to go there? even tho nothing lives in the fuge should u add snails to turn up the sand bed?

A siphon will form the carry water back the tank after you turn on the pump. I don't have any snails in mine, but there are alot of pods/brittle stars in my fuge which I guess mustve hitch-hiked into therewhen I bought the rock rubble/cheatomorpha for the fuge.

well which part are you referring to?.....the water comes in via a tube on the right, then there is a large area in the middle where sand/rock/algae should go, then there is a tall but thin section on the left where a black tube will carry water back into the tank. The far left section should remain empty, but you can put stuff in the middle.

Here's a picture of mine....you can see that theres alot of cheato in the middle (and theres rock underneath that), but the left side is empty

yeah i'm talking about the box at the left.. and my cheato i don't have much life for my fuge.. where can u buy pods and mini stars

Well if you buy some small pieces of LR rubble and cheato at your LFS, then chances are that there are pods/stars in it. I'm not sure how long yours has been setup, but I don't think I saw any life in my fuge for several weeks....then I started to see a few small pods. I didn't notice any stars until a few months later, now I have many in there. If you still can't find any, I'm pretty sure you can buy pods online...but you should be able to get some from the rock at the LFS.

yeah i bought cheato, and rubble at the lfs.. the cheato had some pods in it.. i got excited cos i have never seen any.. so i'm curious to see what my tank will looking like cause of the fuge..

question how often to you turn your cheato?

to be honest I've been pretty lazy with my fuge. I don't turn the cheato at all, and I only trim it once it grows over the water line, or grows into the return chamber. Theres really nothing wrong with this method (since I haven't had any problems, and it still grows VERY fast), but I have noticed that the chaeto at the top of the tank (in particular...the part that begins to stick out of the water) turns white. Turning it could help to prevent this from happening, but I dont think that its a huge deal since I just trim away the white strands.
