CPR/mj1200 overflow problems......help please

it is not really the cpr, but the maxijet 1200 that I am using to draw up the water.

recently and more often it seems to not suck as much to keep air from building up in the overflow.

This morning I had to unplug the air tube from the pump and suck to get all the air out.

the pump is only a couple months old, is there something that I need to do to the pump?

I'd keep the pump and dump the overflow. Those CPR overflows have a great rep for flooding floors. I know this isn't what you want to hear but its all I got.

it seems to be working great, except for the pump.
and i dont see how it could ever overflow? as there is enough space in my tank and sump for any large water shifts (which is what has been happening bc of the pump)
