Cprowler's 150g System from the start

Doh, somehow my subscription got unsubscribed for this thread?

Everything looks really good. I love the new rock.

Don't know if you remember me or not, but I decided to upgrade my 40g to a 120g instead of the 75g. I was so close to getting the 180g, but I budgeted it as almost another grand (end up being 2 grand by the time I was done with it :P )

I just got in (1am PST) and everything seems to be ok. Just a minor rock slide and a few corals dislodged. The original problem that I heard about last week was the auto top off not working, I'll check it all out in the morning. My sister in law was filling the sump to the fill line manually with RO/DI every day.:)

Better to underfill than overfill, and nice to have someone that understands the basics to help out.

Yes I'm going to get her more familiar with everything for future vacations.

I haven't updated in a while.. not much has happened, I don't think my tank is ordered yet :mad2:

We had another power outage today from around 6am to 9am. I had already left for work but my wife stayed here till the power came back on.

I have some minor updates that I will post later, I'm off to price generators.

Gonna get an automatic system? We have a small portable one, 5500W that I can drag out if I need to do so.

I was considering a couple of deep cell 12V and an automatic charger/inverter to run some things during short power outages like yours above. I think it would run my 160 watt sump pump fairly well I imagine.

I'd love to have an automatic setup. My wife's parents have one, propane powered, comes on automatically and runs their whole house, even the central AC... But they spent big $$$ on it.

Yeah, I'll only be able to get a small portable if that. Money's a bit tight after all the spending iv'e done on the tank so far and the trip we just took.

I do have some deep cycle batteries and an inverter that I could run a few things with but it's not automated. The neighbor has a generator and said he would throw a extension cord over the fence if I wanted, if we were to have an extended outage.

I made a few additions on the weekend, I picked up 15 Nassarius snails and a Blue Stag.

The Stag I got two weeks ago just before I went away, I spit a colony with a fellow reefer. Since I was going away he kept it in his tank till I got back. It was an uneven shape to just spilt so I ended up with 3 pieces. I put them in three different spots, I was considering putting them in one so they grew into a large colony.

It was a different blue in the store kind of a light blue, we'll see if it changes color under my lighting.

The first is about 11/2ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ tall.

The second is about 3ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚.

The last I wasnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t able to get a descent pic but itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s about 1ââ"šÂ¬Ã‚ and has 3 branches similar to the top of the second piece.

I got a few things done this weekend and purchased a few things also.:D

I'll post details soon but I'll leave a few pics.

I started a Nano thread if anyone's interested.

Tank looks great! Cant remember if you answered this already...did you get your anemone locally or online?

Nick

Hi guys.

I got the anemone at a LFS, I need to get the 400 installed this week. It seems to be doing well but not thriving like it was in the 40.
