CPU fans for cooling a canopy

Hey guys I know this has been asked before but I can't find any of the previous threads.

I need a pair of "quiet" CPU fans to run in a new canopy. I know others utilize these too, but which ones? I really need quiet fans as this is located in the dining/ living room area. Its pretty bad when your cooling fans drown out a Denon receiver and a 7.1 Klipsch system. Also how do you power these fans? Most I know come with three or four bare wires or a molex connector. Thnaks for the help guys! (And ladies ;) )

Grab an old junk computer out of the back of a dumpster behind a computer parts store, grab the fans from it, run up to a place like RadioShak and purchase an AC/DC adapter that matches the voltage of the fan (usually 12vDC), splice the wires together making sure to hook them up to the correct polarity, and you have a quiet working fan.

Thanks for the info!

Does anyone have a brand of fan currently that is really low noise? Also does anyone use a CPU fan that has a temperature sensor built in?

Get the Vantec Stealth.

If you want I can post a thread where I posted some links and pictures of my setup later.

yate loons, they cost 3.50 for the ones i have, virtually no noise, check my build thread in my sig for pics and how they were wired, first page

I would recommend the vantec stealth computer fans. Very quiet. I have them in my cabnet and can't hear them. I have Icecaps in my canopy and they are loud. With the vantecs you will have to wire them to a power supply.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'll check out those Vantec fans as well as the Yate's.

flyguy - Awesome tank build thread by the way! My 90 will be going hopefully by the first on November if all goes well.

carlos - I would love to see the thread if you have time to post it, thanks!
