If they are eating the coralline, which I haven't heard of from a crab I don't think, then it's only a bad thing if you like your coralline algae. A lot of people on this forum would love a crab that only eats coralline.
When it comes to fish, crabs and other things in our tanks, they all have a species similar personality, but just like us humans they can be very different.
Some are perfect angels, like me, other not so much.
If you're worried about your coralline, match your parameters to mine and forget about the crabs. I have to scrape the stuff off my glass, off my sump walls--- Keep your magnesium up, and you will HOPE crabs will eat the stuff.
Coraline is one of the things that you would love to have at first. Your opinion of it will change when you realize you need to scrape it of the glass at least once a month and it feels like scraping paint of a wall.
