Sorry for posting without a picture but it will come later.

My tank is abouta year and a half old. Initially I added about 75lbs of LR and about 6 months back I added another 50lbs or so.

Last night I just found a crab I have not seen before and I never put it in the tank knowingly. I started looking for something weird happen because the last 3 weeks I have looked at the the twice in the morning and found rockrubble cleaned that the day before would have had zoa's covering them.

Now I don't know if this crab is the culprit. But I don't know anything about it.

It is the size of a medium/large emerald mithrax crab, the legs are fuzzy like emerald crabs. The body is fuzzy too but not as much as an emerald crabs legs. It is rust red in color with red eyes. The body looks a bit more bulky than an emerald crab and the same with the claws.

Again, I will post a picture later.

Thanks!

Crabs often get generic names, as they are hard to positively id. All are opportunists, if they can catch it, they'll probably eat it. I'd remove it myself.

Put some food in a glass or jar and prop it against a rock near where the crab lives. If it goes in the jar after the bait, it will not be able to climb up the smooth sides.

I've always put the glass in just after the lights go out, to deter the fish from trying to get in.

I just caught the little guy. He was hiding in a small rock. I was able to take the rock out of the tank w/o moving other corals and rocks :). What should i do with him now? I dont want to kill him :(

Sorry for the late update. Life got busy.
Here follows two blurry pictures.
