Crab ID Please

Can anyone id this crab for me please & is it reef safe?. Thanks!

fiddler crab, esturary animals, they would not survive well in full strength sea water and are not adjusted to a reef environment

Well, that's odd. It looks like an Ocypode or one of its relatives. These are sand crabs that live in burrows in the intertidal and eat organics. Perfectly harmless. The real question is how did it get into your tank? Was it a hitchhiker or an adoptee?

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated. This guy must be a hitchhiker because I didn't buy it. So I'm safe keeping it in my tank with LPS & SPS? Or should I take him out to be safe? Thanks again!

In cases like this if you have a sump that would be where I would put the guy till you can be positive!
