Crabs and cucumbers go together?

Algee is killing me, my clean up crew is to small so I was thinking about adding a cucumber. It's only a 24G, any cucumber that can go in there and also I have a few 'Dwarf Zebra Hermit Crab' (3) will be getting more. They won't bother the cucumber?

My 4 turbo snails and 3hermits isn't really enough. So I was thinking getting 5more hermits and a cucumber and see I can get my tank back. :)

I have tried smaller snails(astrea) but they can't handle the flow and go upside down all the time. The mexican turbos when they fall are always close to something and can turn themselfs around. They only fall when they are on the heater and it turns on. Don't really want more of them since they are so big.

So what do you think...

Im nit sure about ther cucmber. For snails try banded trochus snails. They can usually flip themselves over and they love to eat!!!

The 24g tank will not be large enough to sustain a cucumber, it may last awhile, but as it gets larger it will likely starve. According to Ron Shimeks Reef Invertebrates, hermits ( probably crabs in general ) will bother a cucumber which could result in the release of toxin from the cuke. I wouldnt keep them together. An alternative might be a fighting conch, and cerith snails.
