Crabs and Zoa's

So, I have a small frag/colony of Zoa's. Today I noticed that one of my crabs ate some of the polyp around the center. Will this portion grow back?

Not sure? I have a emerald and 11 red hermits. But it looked pretty healthy a few days ago. And the rest are very happy and healthy?

I had a rouge emerald crab once. Caught it trying to cut off a Nassarius snail's antenna, witnessed failed attacks on turban snails, would raise its claws at passing fish, and then I saw it clip a large and healthy polyp in a large palythoa covered rock.. Tank was kept generously fed within reason. He was a male as well it seemed by looking at his abdomen. Once removed a bunch of various hermit crabs still remain and I haven't had a problem. This is just my experience though and some individual crabs are just jerks. That one polyp was a goner, but sounds like less damage was done to yours

Emeralds like any other crab are opportunistic. if not enough algae to scrounge they opt for alternate food. But the polyp may have quickly gone down hill after added to your take as well and it just finished it off.

Manybe, not sure what crab did it? The polyp is still alive. I have been trying to upload the pic but tap talk is acting crazy. Today the one polyp that is nipped was closed up. But it still has color?
