My tank is about 5 months old. Everything is going great but I have been finding my crabs dead. I had 8 scarlet crabs and now down to 3.my parms. are Salinity 1.025 p.h. 8.2 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate<5ppm Alkalinity 9.4 calcium 420ppm Phosphate 0. I have 2 clowns,2 cleaner shrimp, number of snails, yellow polyups, frogspawn, green polyups, and a few zoas. Why are my crabs dieing? Thanks

What's your temp at? Are you sure they're not molding and hiding afterwards? Mine do that. Make sure you have plenty of empty shells just in case they are molting and considering a move to a new shell.

what do you feed 2 times a day?

Hermits like meaty foods like mysis or plankton or squid or clams. They also like nori and brocolli rubberbanded to a rock and sunk in the tank. You will be able to tell how 'starving' the remaining ones are when you drop something in the tank. Do they go crazy for it and camp out on it for a couple of days or do they ignore it.... if they ignore it you have other issues. But judging by the age of your tank, I would vote for starvation..... slowly.... over the couse of 5 months.

I feed mystic, brine, blood worms, cycoplez(spelling?) pellet and flake never seem much activity from crabs from day one
