Cracked JBJ 24 gal. Nano

It’s 1:30 am and I just got back from cleaning up my friends family room floor. His 24 gallon Nano cube cracked top to bottom in the front left corner. Water leaked into his power strip causing it to short out and fill family room with smoke. We put the rock and sand in a cooler with a power head and heater, fish went to my sump. So far no casualties. Anyone had any dealings with JBJ with replacing tanks? Tank is about a year old, I’ve read threads about these tanks cracking. He’s going to check with the LFS where he bough it, but my guess is they will tell him he has to deal with JBJ,

<-- Pro at dealing with cracked nano cubes

Last year during finals week I had my 24 gallon NC crack. It was a few months (I think 3-4) over warranty and I was SOL. Last week my 12 gallon cube cracked when it was COMPLETELY EMPTY. I will not buy another nano cube.

Not looking good for him. If JBJ does't help him in some way to make good on his tank I think he will just get out of the hobby. I also have a 12 gallon Nano and now I look at it and wonder if its worth the risk leaving this tank up.

I have a 12 as well, I wanted a 24 but the stories scared me. I am scared to clean the corners of my 12. I think I might start looking for better alternatives around Christmas time. I should be getting a bonus of some sort,

Bonus = new tank, small vacation.

My 24g aquapod broke. Same corner, same crack stright up the left corner. Luckily, TWP dealt with their dealer and got me a brand new one swapped out within 1 day, my fish and rock etc was fine in a bucket with powerhead for the day. It was in my room on the top floor. I work close to home so when my mom called me, I got there and the tank was still half full. 12 gallons of water had gone through my floor, into the office, and even a little leaked into the basement(which is finished and everything). I don't know if I'd get another one.

The tank should have a 1 yr warranty on it, but maybe longer.
