Cracked Sump Help me

I noticed that i always have a little water under my sump. a few days ago i tightened the bulkhead to the pump and just this morning i noticed the tank is cracked by the bulkhead. I don't know if it's been cracked since the beggining or if i just did it the other day but i need to replace the sump. If anyone has a 40g breeder or knows were i can get one cheap i would really appreciate it. I work till 5 today and every day this week, if no one has a used one i'm going to have to find one at petco or something. and i'm just really hoping the leak doesn't get any worse.

I cracked the glass around a bulkhead on a tank is use as a refugium. All i did was silicone the crack on both sides and its held just fine. Its been several years now.

You could probably save it with silicone, but I wouldn't take the chance. That's a lot of water that could be doing a lot of damage to your house while you're working.
I have a drill press and a diamond hole saw. If you like, pick up the tank from Chris, and I'll put a hole in it for a 1" bulkhead for you. If you want a different size bulkhead, I don't have the bit.

Larry his sump is leaking slightly now so i think with silicone it would be fine. If it did leak again he would be back to where it is now. Id definitely try the silicone first but you are welcome to the tank as well.

It's actually a 2" bulkhead for the snapper pump, but i can drill it. I don't know if it's worth draining it, drying it out, and siliconing it when i could just swap it out in less time. I might have to take you up on that spare tank, i'll let you know.

Id give it a few hours at the least. Plop any spare pump you have lying around in your main tank for circulation and youll be fine while your sump is "offline" :)

Depending on how much silicone you use, the drying time could be 24 hrs +

i think i want to just replace the sump, i want to silicone baffles in anyway. CB Is there any way I could pick up that 40 breeder after work one day, i work on ocean pkwy right near jones beach, get off at 5. If so just let me know how much you want for it. Otherwise i'm just going to try to find one new somewhere. I was also considering buying some 1/4" acrylic and making one, but i have a feeling thats going to get expensive. at least i wouldn't have to worry about cracking it again.

Thanks to chris i got a new tank and replaced the sump. But... being a giant knucklehead, I cracked the 20g fuge in the process. I'm a waste of life. I siliconed it up for now but it's cracked pretty badly and still has a slow leak. The sand bed is only about 2 months old, will it be a problem to just switch it all into a new tank?
