Cracked tank

So I have a 60 cube 24"x24"x24" with 1/2 inch glass. The top right corner in the front just under the rim has a small 1 1/2" crack. Luckily (i guess) the crack doesnt go all the way thru its almost like a deep scratch. Should I be concerned and is there anything I can do to fix it. Thanks.

Not sure how much silicone would help, being that silicone is flexible and it the crack would grow before the silicone would hold the glass together. Maybe this is a good application for those windshield crack repair kits available at auto parts stores?

The chemicals involved are highly toxic and are not inert when dried
and it works on the fact the the glass is laminated.
i too pondered this idea while repairing a windshield at work =D

Here is a pic of said deep scratch / crack.

Honestly, I would get a new tank. I had that with an old 30 gallon. One night I heard this weird ZIPPP noise and the sound of water rushing. We had to do an emergency bailout and yank all my livestock/rock into a rubbermaid roughneck.

Can't really tell how deep the scratch is, or if its a crack, from that shot. If its really a scratch I wouldn't worry about it especially on a cube with the half inch thick glass. If it s a crack, going all the way or most of the way through I wouldn't use it at all. I have a 30 cube that was used for years as a seahorse tank at a lfs that had scratches similar to that all over it and they used it for years. I was able to buff the big scratches, 3 or 4 inch ones and about a half a millimeter deep, down with lense polish and a lot of time and effort but could never get it to look crystal clear. Probably could have done it with a lot more time, days, of buffing. So I gave up and turned it into a terrarium for my geckos.

Yea its deep scratch, it doesnt go deep but I can still feel it with my fingernail. I am thinking about trying 1500 grit wet/dry sandpaper. I would rather have a dull spot then a scratch. Since its on the outside should I try the auto kit?
