Sorry but I'm on a mission...

1) Anyone have any idea what these bubble like growths are on my birdsnest? Should I worry?

2) Two corals before & after... better camera skills and some growth/color improvement.

A. divaricata wild colony acquired 12/05 vs. 3/06

Who says PCs aren't adequate?... :D

3) Been practicing camera skills and these are my recent photos. Any suggestions/comments? I just have a basic Nikon Coolpix 4600 and so far have gotten the best shots on the underwater option w/ macro setting...

#1 Noooo idea, are they hard?
#2 That's some sweet looking changes going on there. I've experienced for the first time a browned out frag changing in my tank. It's very nice.
#3 Take lots of pictures, sometimes it will look in focus on the screen... but when it's uploaded it won't be. Randy O gave some good advice about taking pictures in his recent Blue zooanthid thread. Lookin' good. =)

RE: bubble like growths... Are they green and kind of hard? Look like Valonia from the pic, but hard to tell. Valonia is a type of algae that can become a nuisance over time. It's not a problem any way other than aesthetically.

They're not hard and not green. They are actually bubbles in the flesh of the coral itself and when I lightly take a turkey baster to them they flop all around... I've heard before that a frogspawn will sometimes have a bubble appearance when starting a new head but have no clue if that's why my birdsnest is doing this... It is healthy too and all tips have long sections of white growth.

Don't know what that is I never have seen such a thing, is it an egg of some sort? Do you have little gobies?

Any chance of getting a close-up of some of those bubbles? I've seen that sorta thing in a few instances, but if it was one of them, the coral would be a stark white skeleton by now. :D
