Crap Brown Algae

hi all hope all ur fish r great

hopw u caan help...

i have this diatoms algae on my sand now i shouldnt really have it as my tank is nearly 8 MONTHS OLD!!! i use RO water and am careful with feeding why do i have this???
i mbrush it off my sand and with in 1day its bck how can i stop this?

test for nitrites and phosphates

also it would help it you told us a bit more about your set up.
do you dose anything?
also ...what type of sand do you have in there?

its not play sand is it?

My guess is you have high phoshphates or not enough flow. My 75 was only 2 weeks old when all the brown algae went away. I just added a lot of flow to the tank and the sandbed stays nice and clean.
