Crazy Clown Fish

First post, probably wont be the last:)

So I finally stepped into world of saltwater and my first purchase on my recently cycled new 65 gallon setup was a pair of clowns. I observed multiple clown in various tanks and these two really struck out. The male follows the female around like new puppy dog.

The female is what really sold me on the two though. At the lfs I was noticing its behavior it would dart across the tank lifting its tip fin out of the water and swim excitedly across the tank. Turn and repeat, as the male just trudged along after her.

To my delight when I added it to the tank they were cautious at first but within a few hours the female has found the current flow coming from the two powerheads. Is great it starts at one end of the tank like a fighter jet, speeds up crests the top of the water with its fin, and dives allowing current to 'surf' if to the other side of the tank. It has been doing this for the last two hours. Before this I would never of said fish have much personality but this one looks like the happiest fish alive.

In addition they seem to love human presence, they come right up to the tank where you are, and are just begging for attention.

I'll have some pictures coming up soon. Is this typical clown fish behavior? I observed about 10 different tanks, some paired, others with many clowns in one tank, etc. Yet these two really stood out.

Thanks!
Jason

Welcome to RC.

Ya its nice to get a pair of active clowns, most clowns host in corners and sides of tanks and don't do much exploring.
