crazy low mag, alk and calc are in check

For the life of me I cannot get my mag levels up. I'm at 780 right now after a 20% water change.
Calc tested at 440 and alk at 7.5. I know i need to get alk a bit up, but I've not seen any huge drops in calc and alk like I did with mag.

What would be the problem?

It takes alot a lot alot a lot a lot of mag to make it move, how big is the tank? WHen I had low mag issue in my 50 gallon tank close to 1 gallon to fix the issue I used esv best brand out there IMO

also i think you are using an expired test kit or not testing right
I dont know how you can have mag at 780 Iv never heard of it going below 1000

780 doesn't sound right.
You using red sea test kit?
it's only 2ml of water, not 5 like calcium, or 10 for alk.

I've tested twice yesterday and once today. I dont think the test kit is expired, it says it's good till 9/2019 but i'll pick up a different one.

I'm using the Sera test kit. yes it's 2 ml haha.

+1, I suspect a problem with either the test kit or your procedures.

I'll take my water to the LFS tomorrow to have them test.

So these SERA test kits sucks. Had the LFS test and its at 1260. Bought another test kit, tested it myself at home and got the same results.

Now I'm wondering about my calcium levels since I'm also using a SERA test kit on that. I dont think they know what 5ml is. I tested it using their bottle with the 5ml mark and got 340. Ran the same test with a 5 ml syringe using the same test kit at got 500. ugh. Now I know what kits to stay away from. They're expensive too!
At least those are the only 2 parameters i'm using those test kits on. Everything else is red sea
