Wow, that's a lot of maroons! How large are the parents? I ask because my maroon pairs are young/small (females 3-4.5"), and I get small nests from them. Still more than I can handle, but definitely less than 3k!
Here's the parents, the pic is dirty and I'll get another one as soon as I can, but suffice to say she's fairly big, that's a 6in pot they're in.
On the fry pics, it looks like detrius on the bottom all fuzzy like, it's not. It's pools of fry. Crazy, crazy, crazy.
Now the trick is to see how many of them I can get to market.
Nice! Thanks for the pic.
Do you find it easy to sell maroons up there? I find it easier to raise them than to sell them around here, but I haven't tried very hard (selling) yet, and may see if they move better at a larger size.
Uhg, white stripes. Have you raised them before? My gsm's beat the snot out of each other but the wsm's flat out KILLED each other Good luck with growout
FWIW here in SoCal gsm's are popular but you can't give away the white stripes. That and the fact that I found them so diffucult to grow out has made me get rid of the pairs.
Mine are also much more interessted in spending all their energy in fighting then in growing. Even in a big tank they all stick together an beat the crap out of each other. I might follow Davis idea and get rid of my yellow pairs.
Wow 3000 fry. I think you are going to need 3,000,000 rotifers to grow them all out. Are you having all of your friends and neighbors set up a colony
