Lol I'm not going, Im just letting everyone who is willing to drive to Maryland know they'd be in for a good sale

I've actually been to Maryland before, for a baseball tournament.

Man thats 5+hours, how would you even be able to keep your fish and coral in DECENT condition! They would have huge temp. and flow issues. Not trying to be mean or harsh here, but wouldnt the tank of gas that you buy be about equal to the "savings?" On the fish and coral. It would be a hard operation..... thats for sure.

Unless you work somewhere closer to Maryland. Or you know people in Marlyand. Or you're willing to buy (5) 100-200$ fish for 20 or 40 each. IMO it would be worth it.

Ok well I did my Math, and it turns out my education so far has proved useful. I took a very fuel efficient car (2009 honda accord) and factored out the costs. These are all for the full trip.

Gas: 61.56
Food:40.00
Lodging: 50.00
Total: 151.56$

Now here are five fish I would like and then see what saltwaterfish.com sells them for, to calcuate the savings.

Emperor Angel
Price in MYLD: 40.00$
SWF.com: 80.00$
Savings: 40.00$

Blonde Naso Tang
Price in MYLD: 40.00$
SWF.com: 80.00$
Sacings: 40.00$

Flame Angel
Price in MYLD: 20.00$
SWF.com: 50.00$
Savings: 30.00$

Blue Hippo Tang
Price in MYLD: 20.00$
SWF.com: 40.00$
Savings: 20.00$

Falco Hawkfish
Price in MYLD: 20.00$
SWF.com: 18.00
Savings: -2.00$

Total Savings:128.00$

Money Spent Getting there - the savings = 23.56$

Which means you would lose money going there, based on that you can get them here for a higher price but once you factor in getting there its a loss.

Yes you have to factor in shipping but i think that the shipping would be as much of a hassle if not less than having to lug everything back from MYLD.

Overall, i would stick to buying my things locally.

I couldve sworn that you have to buy certain corals first before you are able to purchase the fish for those prices. To be honest even if this sale was going on in CT I wouldnt be going nuts over it. You can buy fish at those prices without having to get Corals first from NYaquatics and you can opt for shipping or make the drive out to New Rochelle NY to pick them up yourself.

1. Lodging??
2. Why would you buy the Falco Hawkfish i you could get it cheaper somewhere else?
3. Did you factor in shipping costs?
4. A 40$ lunch? Thats a big meal there.
5. Food isnt necessarily a factor, whereas you NEED to eat, regardless of whether you went or not.
6. (I said unless you want to get 100-200$ fish for only 40 or 20 bucks.) Obviously it wouldnt be worth it for YOU personally.

If you put take away "lodging costs" (50$), put a realistic food cost (10$), and buy a fish that is CHEAPER than other places, then yes, it woud be worth it.

Luckyyy... Must have grabbed some goodies. I hear florida has some great stuff!

1. Lodging because if you stay overnight for the two days of the sale, to make it worth you while
2. Its just an example of how the deals arent always as good as they are put out to be.
3. I explained shipping in my closing statements, and you should take a look there, and then state your argument with my statement.
4. If you and your buddy go and you have lunch and dinner and a decent place its going to be around 40$.
5. Yes food is a factor, because it is all part of the cost of the trip that you would be making.
6. I choose out some expensive fish, and some lesser expensive fish, I think my study exploited the high end and the low end, and whether it is personally worth it to me, does not need to be conveyed to make my point.

Food isnt a factor.. you STILL would be eating if you were home.. and the food you would be eating you would have to pay for.. therefore... it is NOT a factor. Also, if you WERE paying for food, maybe you're friend would pay for his own. You didnt choose SOME lesser expensive, you chose one that you could get somewhere else for cheaper. Also, tehre are other sales there. Would you buy a 200$ coral to get another 200$ coral free..... THERES 200$ SAVINGS RIGHT THERE.....

I can see where this is going, and will no longer pursue it, because you refuse to look at both sides of spectrum.

Thank You
