Crazy PE

Well i got a blue mille from someone on the forums and its been doing great so far. It encrusted on its rock and has been in the tank for about a month and a half. The polyps come out so far and wide on it that it is starting to brown the base of it because the polyps are blocking all the light. it still has its blue tips and blue encrustaion. Is this normal or are the polyps too extended?

Definately too extended....send it to me for further inspection.

Hey guys I have this acro and its growing....should I be concerned about this one....

I also have an acro that keeps getting more colorful... I think I should return it to the store.

Just jokes...but why ask about a coral that even you state is "doing great" ...sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

I think he is haveing problems keeping the color, not that it looks like it's dieing or anything like that.

How's the water quality. I know there has been a lot of talk lately about not getting full color out of their sps due to tank being too clean. Not sure about the PE though...I'm still pretty new at SPS so hopefully someone with more exp. will chime in.

I have a very large teal milli that when the polyps arent in the way i.e. the growth tips are VERY blue otherwise my colony is teal... I guess more flow would allow the base to get more light since the polyps would be waving... here is a pic of mine...

It shouldn't be a major concern with the bottom browning out. I've had the bottoms brown out and the tips proliferate, it's normal as the coral gets larger. Polyp extension is good- I've been accused of doing something to my water to make my milli's polyps come out- Clean water and a lot of flow.

check out the polyps on this milli:

the polyps are swaying more than the GSP in the backgorund
